Nicer Neilston – You Decide

East Renfrewshire Council, as part of their locality planning processes, have allocated £25,000 to the area of Neilston. The Nicer Neilston – You Decide initiative lets the community decide for themselves which projects are needed, addressing priorities and should be funded in their area.

What can you apply for?

We need your ideas for new or existing projects that will address one or more of the six key priority themes identified by the community, and is to be targeted at people living in one or more of the priority areas:

The Priority themes are:

  • Community Safety / Feeling Safe
  • Employability / Financial Inclusion
  • Community Activity / Health & Wellbeing
  • Older people
  • Young People
  • Environment

The priority geographical areas are:

  • Neilston (G78 3)

Who can apply?

Any local community, voluntary or non-profit organisation can apply to this fund – even informal groups. Smaller grants will be available of £100-£500 and a larger grant will available of £501-£5000.

You don’t have to come from an existing local organisation to apply for this fund but all activities will have to happen in the target areas of Neilston and benefit residents.

How do you apply?

To apply for the funding you must return this form before 5pm on Thursday 7th February 2019.

If your project or idea fits with any of the key priorities, the community will get the chance to vote on it at an event on Saturday 23rd March 2019 in the Glen Halls, Main Street, Neilston from 10am until 2pm.  The successful bidders will be announced on the day.

The voting event will be a market place with bidders having stalls showcasing their project or idea.
