In January 2019 East Renfrewshire Council carried out a survey in the Mearns Village area in which its residents highlighted a variety of factors for improvement. One which can now be actioned after securing a £130,000 budget is to update Mearns Park.
The park must be safe and inclusive for all its users, as such £40,000 will ensure inclusive equipment will be installed as well as suitable fencing and seating.
With the remaining budget we are asking the community to vote on which pieces of equipment they would like to see in the refurbishment.
This is your voting form.
Please note images are for display purposes only and equipment may not look identical to the images shown.
The new play park items cost up to £16,000 each. With your votes, we will buy as many of your favourite items as we can within the budget.
The results and updates will be posted on the noticeboard in The Avenue at The Market Place and shared on East Renfrewshire Council's website and social media accounts.
I will be available to discuss this further and provide paper copies of the questionnaire at The Marketplace, The Avenue, Newton Mearns.
