Ayr Road (South) Active Travel Improvements

Closes 24 Dec 2021

Opened 24 Sep 2021

Overview

East Renfrewshire Council is seeking community feedback on our plans to improve the walking, cycling, and wheeling infrastructure on the southern section of the A77 Ayr Road in Newton Mearns.

The project is split into two phases, with construction proposed in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Phase 1 will improve the continuity of the existing shared-use path provision, while Phase 2 will deliver Dutch-style segregated infrastructure and a high-quality public realm.

Why your views matter

We want to understand how our plans may affect road users and local residents. In particular, we would like to hear your ideas on how Phase 2 can improve sustainable transport provision, and which of two options for Malletsheugh roundabout are preferred in the community.
