We launched a new customer survey for Council Tax and Benefits in June 2025 to understand how customers currently experience our services, what's working well and where we can still improve. We also wanted to learn more about our customers' experience when paying bills or invoices issued by the Council. The survey was open from 6 June 2025 until 30 June 2025.
Following feedback, we've introduced some improvements which we hope will make paying bills easier for you:
We've re-designed your Council Tax bill to give it a fresh modern look with clearer signposting and a more user friendly format to help you find the information you need more easily.
Council Tax payment options now include an annual one-off payment which was requested by several customers.
Updated benefit letters using Plain English to ensure customers understand the purpose, required actions and next steps.
17 customers signed up to be customer testers and have already tested our new Council Tax bill and two other online forms. Following their feedback, we made some changes to ensure clarity and a positive customer experience.
We've listened to our customers and are working on improving our invoices to ensure they are clear and highlight key information like amount due, due date and payment options.
