We are consulting our tenants on the proposed rent increase for 2026/27. This is something which Councils are expected to do, but we also think it’s good practice to consult our tenants on this.
All tenants will have already received their survey through the post, and the deadline to respond is 31st December. Only tenants are eligible to vote on the the increase options being considered for 2026/27. These are:
An increase of 4.8% will cover the cost of service delivery
An increase of 5.8% will cover the costs of service delivery but deliver an additional £134,000 of income towards more property improvements/repairs.
Both options include a tenant support fund of £150,000 for tenants in financial crisis.
The final decision will be approved at a Council meeting in February 2026 . As part of this decision-making, your elected members will be informed on the outcome of this consultation.
Budget Setting - Views and Questions
We are also looking more generally for people's views on budget setting. The survey below seeks to gather views on commonly held beliefs on housing services and how money is invested. It is for everyone to give their views on, not just tenants. Please click 'Your Views on Budget Setting' below to get involved.
